SAP AcronymesWhat Does The SAP R/3 Acronym mean?

The SAP R/3 acronym stands for System, Anwendungen, Produckte in der Datenverarbeitung or in English means System, Application & Products in Data Processing.

The R/3 means Real time and 3 means 3-tiers, I’m sure that you’re all aware of the 3 tiers application, it means that the application is designed with 3 different layers, the Database layer, Application layer and the Presentation layer.

But now the SAP R/3 product name has been changed into SAP ECC (ERP Central Component), the latest version the ERP ECC 6.0
